Answers to your questions
The CLEP Introductory Psychology exam assesses your understanding of core concepts and principles typically covered in a one-semester undergraduate introductory psychology course. This exam covers a broad range of topics, including history, approaches, methods, biological bases of behavior, sensation and perception, learning, cognition, motivation and emotion, and social psychology, among others.
The Introductory Psychology CLEP exam is a standardized test designed to measure whether or not you understand the basic principles that would be taught in an Introductory Psychology college course. Do not plan to cram for this test. Instead, you should plan to review the material that will be tested over time so that you are able to enhance your knowledge in areas where you may not score as well.
The exam is 90 minutes long and consists of approximately 95 multiple-choice questions. Please note that some questions may be pretest questions which are not scored.
CLEP exam scores for the Introductory Psychology exam will be displayed on the screen immediately after you complete the exam. You can also view your score within one business day in your My Account on the College Board portal.
According to the College Board, you can retake the Introductory Psychology CLEP exam one time every three months. If you try to retake the exam within three months of your last attempt, the test administration will be considered invalid, and your score will be cancelled.
