How do you pass the ATI TEAS exam?
The ATI TEAS test is a standardized test that is designed to measure whether you have the basic knowledge needed to succeed in nursing and allied health programs. It tests your knowledge of reading, math, science and English. The biggest mistake some people make is not preparing for the test. You do NOT want to cram at the last minute, but plan to review the material that will be tested over time so you can enhance your knowledge in areas where you may be weaker. ATI recommends allowing for at least 6 weeks of preparation prior to taking your TEAS exam. While there is no universal passing score, a score of 60% - 70% is typically the minimum requirement of nursing and allied health schools. Competitive programs frequently require a score of 75% or higher. Check with your school to find out their acceptance criteria.
How long does it take to get API TEAS results?
After finishing the ATI TEAS exam, your score report will be available under the RESULTS tab of your ATI account. The availability of your scores and the process for viewing them, will depend on the testing method you choose. If you take the electronic version of the test in a proctored setting, your scores will likely be available immediately upon completion of the TEAS test. If you take the exam on paper, you will need to allow 3 business days (excluding weekends and holidays) for your scores to be posted.
How many times can you take the ATI TEAS? Is there a waiting period?
Each nursing or allied health school has different requirements when it comes to how many times you can attempt the ATI TEAS test. Be sure to contact the school where you are applying to understand important deadlines and the number of attempts you are allowed in order to pass the ATI TEAS. Each completed and scored TEAS test counts as an attempt, even if you do not submit your test results to the school. Schools will receive an updated TEAS attempts report with your submission of a TEAS Transcript. ATI requires you to wait 14 days between attempts, but many nursing and allied health schools have a mandatory 30-day waiting period. Overall, you are typically limited to 3 attempts in a 12-month period.
