A Class session is 3 hours long -- that is a long time to focus your attention away from the kids so important reminders include:
- we do take a 15 min break halfway through. You can use this to check on the kids, and refocus them onto a new task.
- The virtual recording is automatically available in moodle after you complete your weekly activities. So if you are running late, get distracted, or need to leave early, its no problem just review the recording another time.
- Use headphones, but position yourself so you can keep an eyeball on the kids.
- Break this 3 hours into two 1.5 hour segments or 3 one hour segments.
This will depend on the age of the kids, so we can first ask what ages are your kids:
Ideas for infants and toddlers:
-Watch an educational or fun program
-Take a nap
-Coloring or playdough
-Have an older child in the household read them books and play with them (hire them to babysit)

Ideas for preschool age and up
-Have them work on a school related project.
-Have them read a book and answer some questions about what they read
-Give them chores and incentives for completing those (clean your room, dust the furniture)
-Virtual museum visit, then answer some questions about it

Additional Ideas for middle school and older
-Have them cook a meal, snack or dessert - follow a family recipe or create a new recipe
-Play outside in the yard
-Play a card game like solitaire, do a crossword, or another single player game -- or play a board game if they have siblings.
-Play an instrument, use free online tutorials
-creative writing project, journaling or writing a short story
