Academic Update:
Attention all students: as of Oct. 1, 2011 Excelsior College has changed one of its academic requirements. If you were not an enrolled student in Excelsior College by Oct. 1, 2011, then you will now have a College Math requirement. Excelsior College did not change the number of credits needed to earn your ASN degree so the College Math requirement will replace your Psych class. (The Psych class was an elective). For those of you who will need the math credit, we will be offering a CLEP Math test prep course starting in Spring 2012. If you think you need to the College Math credit, please contact Judy Acosta, Academic Coordinator at judy.acosta@achievetestprep.com.
PROGRAM UPDATE:
CHANGES TO STUDENT GUIDELINES:
- Registration— You must register for classes online. The class schedule for all campuses is posted online: www.achievetestprep.com/class-schedule.html The full class schedule is also posted in the student database. To register, you go to the class schedule page: www.achievetestprep.com/class-schedule.html and scroll down to the bottom of the page. Click on the blue button labeled, REGISTER FOR CLASS. Or go directly to the student login button in the upper left-hand corner of any page of our website (www.achievetestprep.com). Your username is your email address and your password is atpstudent. (When you login you can change your personal password). Upon registration you will see your class listed as pending. You will receive a confirmation email from the Academic Coordinator when your registration has been confirmed. Confirmations for all classes will be sent within a week of the class start date regardless of date of registration.
- Confirmation of Course Registration: When processing your registration for your next class, we will be determining if you have taken the exam for your previous class. As per your Enrollment Agreement, students will not be permitted to register for their next class until they have at least registered for the previous course’s exam.
Class Registration Confirmation will be based on the following:
- Your account must be in good standing
- You must register for your exam. After your first class, proof of exam registration must be provided. You must send your exam registration confirmation from testing center to Judy Acosta, Academic Coordinator at registration@achievetestprep.com or can fax to 888.900.0825.
- You must take your exam. After taking exam, you must forward exam results. Send exam results to Judy Acosta, Academic Coordinator at registration@achievetestprep.com or can fax to 888.900.0825.
- For students who are significantly behind in taking exams, we will be limiting new class registrations until you have caught up with your exam-taking.
- You will not be confirmed for your next class unless you meet all the above requirements.
It is strongly recommended that you take your corresponding exams within 4-weeks of completing the course. Ideally, you will register for your exam at the mid-point of your course and take the exam the week following your course completion date. Confirmation emails for all classes will be sent within a week of the class start date regardless of when you register for the class.
- Dropping a Class: Once you registered online for a class, you may drop that class up to 48 hours to the start of class without penalty. To drop a class, you must login to the student database. Once you are in the student control panel, click on register for class, you will see the class schedule, select the class that you want to drop and click unregister. If you have any questions on this or are within 48 hours of class start date then you must send an email to: registration@achievetestprep.com. Failure to follow this procedure will result in a penalty fee of $75 and a $150 re-enrollment fee the next you register for that class.
